Mutton donne biriyan

#meetthemeat. It's a famous biriyani in Mysore. Usually served in a bowl made up of leaf called donne.

Ingredient

500 grams

mutton

1 tablespoon

chilli powder

1 tablespoon

coriander powder

1 teaspoon

turmeric

2 inch

cinnamon

4 tablespoon

coriander leaves

100 ml

curd

2 tablespoon

ginger garlic paste

To taste

Salt

basmathi rice

4 tablespoon

pudina

1/4 teaspoon

turmeric powder

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak rice for 30 minutes. Boil water add soaked rice and all other ingredients.

Half cook the rice and strain excess water.

Cook mutton with salt and little water for 6 whistle

In a pan heat oil and ghee add clove, bay leaf and cinnamon. Add onions after onions are done add ginger garlic paste and chilli paste.

Add mutton (keep water for later use) add all masala items. Mix well.

Add tomatoes and coriander leaves. add water and cook. Add curd adjust salt if necessary.

After gravy is cooked completely. Separate gravy and mutton.

In a heavy bottomed vessel put one layer of mutton. After that put one layer of rice repeat till all rice is over.

After finishing final layer of rice put ghee and the gravy.

Cover with a plate and keep weight on it. Can keep hot water plate. Heat tawa on a high flame and keep this setup on tawa for 15 minutes on high flame.

Serve hot with serva.
