* Step 2

* Step 3

Next, drain and discard the water (only the water). Spread on a tray to remove water completely. It doesn't have to be super dry.

* Step 4

Next, Deep fry the peanuts - Check the link below on how to deep fry peanuts with cold oil.

* Step 5

Note: This technique of deep frying resulting in evenly cooked peanuts and once peanuts cooked and leave to cool before storing, there will be no greasy oil residue on peanuts. This technique takes practice to gauge the doneness of the peanuts. Stop cooking when peanuts turn slightly brown. Always remember, peanuts continue to cook even after removing from the heat. Some however, like their peanuts to be slightly undercooked. it all depends on one preference.

* Step 6

Variation: To oven roast your peanuts, preheat oven to 150°C (fan)/170°C. Spread peanuts evenly on a non-stick baking tray. If you don't have one, use baking paper to line your tray. Next, Spray some oil of your choice. Toss to mix. Bake peanuts for 10-15mins. Take out from the oven. Toss and mix. Put the tray back into the oven. Repeat until you have lightly brown peanuts. Season with your preferred seasonings. Leave to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

* Step 7

For deep fried and oven baked peanuts, tasting the peanuts will also help to decide the doneness. Raw peanuts taste raw and have slightly bitter aftertaste (of course), meanwhile, cooked peanuts taste more peanutty 😊 stop the cooking process once you are happy with the taste and leave peanuts to cool completely before storing. You'll have a crunchy peanuts once cooled.
