Mock-Beer Apple Jello For Father's Day
I went to a certain pastry shop the other day to buy some cream puffs. And what do you know - they were selling jellies that looked just like beer!
I didn't buy the jelly, but I recreated it just by using my imagination!
I uploaded it just in time for Father's Day!
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Start by making the apple jelly. Combine the ○ ingredients, and leave the gelatin to soften (about 10 minutes).
* Step 2
Put the apple juice in a pan and warm it up.
* Step 3
Add the softened gelatin from Step 1 into the warmed apple juice.
* Step 4
Mix well to dissolve the gelatin completely.
* Step 5
Fill a bowl with ice water, and suspend the bowl of apple jelly over it to cool it down. If it thickens slightly, it's good! ※ Stir with a spatula as it cools.
* Step 6
Pour the cooled jelly into mugs, and chill until set in the refrigerator.
* Step 7
Next, make the lemon meringue mousse. Combine the ◎ ingredients, and soften the gelatin (about 10 minutes).
* Step 8
Add lemon juice to the mix. Microwave for about 15 seconds at 600w and dissolve the gelatin.
* Step 9
Put the egg whites in a clean bowl, and start beating them with a handheld mixer. Add 2 pinches of the sugar, and beat at high speed.
* Step 10
When the egg whites are whipped to the point where soft peaks have formed, add the rest of the sugar.
* Step 11
Keep beating until the meringue is shiny.
* Step 12
Beat at low speed to finish, to make sure the meringue is very fine in texture. ※ If stiff peaks form, the meringue is done!
* Step 13
Next, add the gelatin liquid from Step 8.
* Step 15
Mound the Step 14 meringue on top of the Step 5 apple jelly. Put the mugs back in the refrigerator until set, and they're done.
* Step 16
If you serve these with some nuts on the side, they might just look like real beer. If your Dad like sweet things, he's sure to love this.
