Microwave Poached Egg

If I’m being honest, making perfect microwave poached eggs is a gamble. It requires several trials to learn the behavior of your microwave. I personally struggle with it every time I change a microwave but it is such a beautiful sport. Hopefully I didn’t discourage you from trying 😉

Ingredient

Food ration :

1 serving

Cooking time :

3 minutes
1/4 cup

water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Microwave the water in a cup on high for 1 minute to get it hot but not boiling, doing it in 30 second intervals to be sure

* Step 2

Crack and slide the egg into the water. Gently poke a hole into the yolk using a toothpick. Cover the cup with cling firm and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Microwave 10 seconds longer if the egg is too undercooked for you

* Step 3

Gently lift the egg out of the cup using a spoon. Serve on toast or a salad bed with a sprinkling of salt and chili flakes. Enjoy 😉
