Methi Thepla are very tasty and healthy recipe and a must try lightly spiced paratha like traditional Gujarati flatbread Recipe is prepared from wheat flour, fenugreek leaves and other spices. Theplas are an inherent part of Gujarati meals and are cooked for regular meals and for travelling or picnic. It tastes best when eaten with Garlic Chutney, Curd and pickle.

Ingredient

Food ration :

Cooking time :

1/4 cup

yoghurt

1/4 cup

oil

1/2 tsp

sesame seed

1/2 tsp

caram seed

1/2 tsp

garlic paste

1/2 tsp

chilli paste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take wheat flour

* Step 2

Also add Salt, Red chili powder, turmeric, sesame seeds, carom seeds.

* Step 3

Add Garlic and chilli paste

* Step 4

Add 1/4 Cup oil and mix it well.

* Step 5

Add 1 cup Fenugreek leaves and 1/4 cup yoghurt and mix all together well.

* Step 6

Add water little by little and make soft dough.

* Step 7

Add 2 tsp of oil and knead the dough for 5 more minutes and rest for 10 min.

* Step 8

Now pinch a medium sized ball dough, roll and flatten it.

* Step 9

Also dust with some wheat flour when needed.

* Step 10

Roll it in a thin circle like chapathi or paratha

* Step 11

Now on a hot tawa place the rolled thepla and cook for a minute.

* Step 12

When the base is partly cooked, flip the methi thepla also brush oil / ghee and press slightly.

* Step 13

Cook both side well.

* Step 14

Finally, serve methi thepla with raita and pickle.
