Strawberry Shortcake

This is a relatively easy homemade cake to indulge in any day. It has genoise sponge cake base and fresh cream frosting that is not overly sweetened. 🍓🍓🍓

Ingredient

Food ration :

6-inches or 15 cm cake
30 g (2 tbsp)

hot water

40 g (3 tbsp)

granulated sugar

480 g (2 cups)

whipping cream

Cooking instructions

Combine hot water, sugar, and kirsch (if using). Set aside.

* Step 3

Add sugar into the cold whipping cream. Beat until stiff peak with an electric mixer.

* Step 4

Brush the first sponge cake layer with the sugar syrup. Apply a thin layer of whipped cream then arrange 5 strawberry halves on top. Apply another layer of cream to fully cover the strawberries.

* Step 5

Add another cake layer on top and repeat the same steps of brushing sugar syrup, applying a thin layer of cream, arranging 5 strawberry halves, and covering them with cream.

* Step 6

Add the final cake layer and brush it with the sugar syrup. Frost the top and sides of the cake with whipped cream. Decorate as desired. Place whole strawberries on the top center of the cake. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
