Buttermilk Ice Cream

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, sugar, whipping cream, and vanilla; stir until sugar is dissolved.

* Step 2

Pour buttermilk mixture into freezer canister of 4 to 6 quart ice cream freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer's directions. If desired, ripen ice cream about 4 hours.

* Step 3

This tastes great all by itself, but you can also use something sweet or tart to change the flavor, such as sour cherry preserves, pineapple ice cream topping, or blueberry pie filling.
