Desi Murg Salan/Country Chicken Curry

#ga24 #cookpadindia #countrychicken #8-14july Country Chicken or Desi Murg is a great option for any day. Known as Naatu Kodi in Telugu language, it is usually bred for it's taste and flavour. Unlike the commercial Chicken that are bred for their meat. This one is a good direct roast that's done in an Air Fryer and not on a barbecue. And this had made it pretty much easier for me. I just had the marinade ready. And then it was left in the refrigerator overnight. And next day, the well marinated Chicken Roast was the highlight of our family Dinner. Easy and done in the comfort of your homes, this Country Chicken Roast is a delightful mixture of beautiful aromatic flavours and texture. Country Chicken have a slight edge in nutritional value in terms of fat content and crude Fiber. And same goes with Protein too. The skin is rich in unsaturated fats that are beneficial to Heart. These are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids often associated with the reduced risk of chronic diseases. Therefore Country Chicken are definitely a perfect choice than the regular broilers.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Clean and wash the chicken and drain all the water from it. Set aside until use.

* Step 2

Take a deep cooking pot. Add oil to it. When oil gets heated up, add the whole spices and fry for a minute. Now saute the onions first until light brown. Also add the tomatoes with slit green chillies. Once the tomatoes are soft and cooked, add the chicken next and mix very well. Saute it on a high flame for 10 minutes until the raw smell fades away, then lower the flame to medium high and cook it covered. Add all the powdered spices as mentioned.

* Step 3

Stir in between so that it won't stick to the pan. It releases a lot of water. So saute and roast it well until the oil separates. (Since it's the country chicken, it takes a little longer time to cook). Add some water to balance the consistency but don't add much. Adjust salt at this stage.
