Custard Apple powder and Coconut Burfi

#IWI #week1 #cookpadindia Sitaphal or Custard Apple powder is a great option for whipping up many Desserts at ease. Though fresh one's are also absolutely delectable and easy to make up a whole lot of excellent dishes, this time I have selected the powder instead just for some variation. This powder is available at many grocery stores across India. It's used in Soups, Sauces, Mixes and Seasonings. It also can be used as a substitute for Milk. Desserts, Puddings, Ice-creams and Yogurt fillings also can be made and relished on special occasions and holidays as well as Festivals and get-togethers too.

Ingredient

5-6 servings

Cooking time :

25-30 minutes
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp

Coconut Jaggery

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat ghee in a wide pan. Add the custard apple powder and roast for about 2 minutes. Now add milk to it.

* Step 2

Along with milk, also add in coconut jaggery and the dessicated coconut powder. Stir in some cardamom powder too. Mix well.

Now cook on a low to medium high heat by stirring continuously and with lots of care as it bubbles furiously.

* Step 4

As the jaggery melts, the mix starts looking glossy and shiny. It leaves the sides of the pan in no time at all. After cooking for a total of 25 minutes, it's ready to be added to a greased plate or a dish lined with butter paper. Sprinkle lots of chopped almonds. After it comes down to the room temperature, refrigerate it overnight. Or at least for 2 hours.
