Makki Rotis

#cookpadindia Punjab and Makki Di Roti are so synonymous. They are one. The first thing when we mention it's name is the State Of Punjab coming to our mind with it's eternal beauty, luscious green fields and lovely people. This one is a popular Bread that's loved by many across the Country. Winters are the best time to enjoy this with Sarson ka Saag and White Butter. I have tried this with the use of little of Wheat Flour as well but haven't tried it all on it's own. But again that's the beauty of this Bread. It has rough edges and not smooth and round if it's made using just pure Maize Flour without any other. That's it. I have rolled it a bit thick as it's generally done and have used a plastic sheet for doing so. It's a perfect way to enjoy your meals on a Wintry Night as It's absolutely awesome. Relish it's lovely texture with your loved ones and friends on any given day for that matter. You will wan more and more. Happy Cooking with Zee!

Ingredient

Food ration :

1/4 cup

Wheat Flour

1/4 tsp

Salt

as needed

Warm water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Knead a smooth dough out of all the ingredients mentioned. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.

* Step 2

Place a tawa on a low heat. Divide the dough into equal sized balls. Roll out discs in between plastic sheets so that they don't break while doing so. And after a minute or two of roasting on a tawa, do it by directly placing it on the flame.

* Step 3

Roast them evenly on both the sides until crisp and done. Apply some Ghee after done just before serving. It's absolutely awesome in taste and texture.
