Nutrela Patishapta Pithe

In this winter season of pithe pulis for Bengalis try this innovative twist with soyabean stuffing and enjoy with nolen gur.

Ingredient

Food ration :

1/4 cup

sugar

2 cups

milk

1 cup

ghee

1 cup

maida

1/2 cup

rice flour

1/4 cup

suji

2-3 tbsp

vegetable oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

For soya stuffing Soak the soya beans overnight, squeeze very well and grind them in a mixer.

* Step 2

Heat ghee in a pan and fry the soya bean mix for a few minutes.

* Step 3

Add milk and let it cook.

* Step 4

As the mixture starts getting dry, add mawa/khoya kheer and sugar.

* Step 5

Add cardamom powder and mix well.

* Step 6

For the patishapta Take a large bowl and sift rice flour, maida, semolina and mix the flours. Gradually, add milk and powder sugar 1 tbsp to make a smooth batter. Make sure that the batter is not too flowy not to thick. Keep the batter aside

* Step 7

Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Pour a ladle full of batter in it and spread into a medium sized pancake and let the underside cook.

* Step 8

Put a spoonful of mixture length wise, roll and cook, flip the side turn golden brown. Serve with nolen gur aside or sprinkle on top of your patishapta.
