Lobhiya Curry

#ga24. #Tamil Nadu Lobhia Curry is a North Indian style curry made using black-eyed beans. It pairs very well with paratha, phulka, or rice. Here I am sharing my mother's traditional recipe.

Ingredient

Food ration :

25 minutes
2 and 1/2 bowl

Water

2tbsp

Ghee

1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds

4 pods

Garlic

1/4 tsp

Garam masala

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

👉Wash lobiya and transfer it in a pressure cooker. Add water and salt and place the lid. Cook for 2 minutes after first whistle. Let pressure releases automatically.

* Step 2

👉Wash peel and chop onion, ginger, garlic and green chilli. Transfer it in a mixer. Chop tomatoes and add in mixer. Grind it to a smooth paste.

👉Heat ghee in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grinded paste and saute till oil leaves the karahi. 👉Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander seeds powder

👉Mix well and cook for 2 minutes on low flame till oil leaves the sides of wok.

* Step 5

👉Open the pressure cooker and transfer this masala in pressure cooker. Place the lid and pressure cook for 3 minutes after first whistle. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.

* Step 6

👉Open the lid. Transfer it in a serving bowl. Add garam masala and chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot with chapati or Paratha or rice
