Sesame seeds Potato subji in Falahari Thali Platter

As the name suggests falahari diet mostly consists of fruits. Other than these, sabudana, samak rice, kuttu atta (buckwheat flour), singhara atta, roasted peanuts, makhana, potatoes, paneer and milk are widely consumed during Shivratri fasting.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Peel boiled potatoes and chop in small pieces.
* Step 2
Heat ghee wali in a wok. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add sesame seeds and saute for 2 minutes.
* Step 3
Add chopped boiled potatoes and saute for 1 minute.
* Step 4
Add salt, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and cumin seeds powder and mix well. Saute for 3-4 minutes on medium heat till an aromatic. Switch off the flame.
* Step 5
Arrange thali viz, sago khichdi, kheer, cucumber raita and sesame seeds potatoes in a plate and serve immediately
