Soda farls
For years, I've been craving soda farls. My gran and mum used to make them often, but I can't get buttermilk here. So I read somewhere that milk and lemon juice would be a good substitute. And it was! All I'm missing now are the rest of the ingredients for an Ulster fry 😂 so instead, like mum used to do, I cut them open, lightly toasted them then served with lashings of butter and a cup of tea #soda #bread

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Mix, dry ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add the buttermilk or the substitute, and bring together to form a dough
* Step 2
Leave to rest for about 10 mins. Sprinkle some flour in a griddle pan or frying pan. Flatten the dough out directly in the pan and make a cross using a knife, to create the farls. Dry fry in the flour for about 5 mins on medium heat
* Step 3
Carefully flip over and cook the other side for about another 5 mins until golden brown on both sides. Then slice open, put back in the pan and lightly toast the middle. Serve immediately with butter and a cup of tea
