Karwa Chauth is observed in North & West India and any festivities without Kheer is unthinkable. Desserts are important part of Indian Cuisines for whatever be the occasion. I made Pheni Kheer for Karwa Chauth.

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-30 mins
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a pan heat ghee and add cashew nuts and fry. Set aside. Add sultanas and fry, set aside
* Step 2
In a deep bottom pan add milk and bring it to quick boil, reduce the flame and simmer until it’s reduced little.
* Step 3
Add Almond powder, sugar and stir making sure it’s lump free. As you stir on low flame you shall see milk is thickening. Add cardamom powder.
* Step 4
Add Pheniya, stir gently and switch off the flame after 2 mins. Keep it covered for 10 mins while Pheniya gets cooked but will not turn soggy.
* Step 5
Plate with fried cashew nuts and sultanas and enjoy 😊
