Langar Wali Dal is made with so much love, and respect in Gurudwara and there is no set recipe for this Dal but people from near & distant places assemble in the Gurudwara to cook as a Community food meant to be eaten together with love and respect.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Soak Black Urad Dal overnight and drain the next day. Add to the pressure cooker along with Chana Dal, chopped ginger, bay leaf, coarsely crushed garlic, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and 4.5 cups water. For 5 whistles pressure cook
* Step 2
Depressurise, mash, and set aside
* Step 3
For Tempering - in pan heat ghee, mustard oil and add cumin seeds. When it splutters add coarsely crushed together ginger-garlic-green chilies, stir for 2 mins
* Step 4
Add roughly chopped onion and stir for 2-3 mins
* Step 5
Add roughly chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt and stir for 2-3 mins, add Mashed Dal. Add little water from the pressure cooker and cover to cook for 10 mins. Add chopped coriander leaves.
