Spicy Peanut Rice Cake

#flavour4 This is a Chinese dish where the soft rice is mixed with red chilli sauce and fish sauce to make it spicy. Coating of chopped Peanuts is the key to the crunchiness of the Cakes.

Ingredient

Cooking time :

Preparation time-10 mins, Cooking time-15 mins
1/2 Tbsp

Fish sauce

As needed

Oil to fry

to taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cook the rice and have it soft. Drain and set aside. In either a mortar & pestle or blender add turmeric powder, coarsely crushed ginger and garlic. Blend. Add salt, chopped coriander leaves, fish sauce, red chilli sauce, 1 Tbsp rice and blend until sticky

* Step 2

Add the whole mixture to the rest of the rice and mix very well. Make balls and set aside

* Step 3

On a bowl have the chopped peanuts and take the balls to add to the peanuts to coat and set aside

* Step 4

In a wok heat oil and on medium flame fry the rice balls in batches.

* Step 5

Plate and enjoy as a starter or snack
