Greens and Beans

This is an old Italian dish that I got from my grandmother and mother. I always loved it and it’s an excellent non-meat meal!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Chop the ends off the stalks of broccoli rabe, about one inch.

* Step 2

Cook broccoli rabe uncovered in a pot of boiling salted water until slightly softened, about 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

* Step 3

Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil until almost blackened.

* Step 4

Stir in the broccoli rabe and cannellini beans and continue sautéing until heated through. Add salt to your liking.

* Step 5

Serve immediately with a loaf of crusty Italian bread.

* Step 6
