U Choy Sum with Garlic Oil
The Chinese name for this dish is 蒜蓉菜心. It is super easy.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Start with a pot of water for boiling. The water should be enough to cover the u choy sum. Add some oil to the water. Meanwhile, chop off the stems of u choy sum.
* Step 2
Rinse u choy sum and add it to boiling water for 3-4 minutes till it is cooked. Transfer it to a dishware.
* Step 3
Pour decent amount of soy sauce all over u choy sum. 「Tips - light soy sauce or regular soy sauce is good. Don't use flavored or dark soy sauce for this dish.」
* Step 4
Mince the garlic. Heat garlic with oil for 1-2 minutes till the aroma is out, but the garlic is not brown yet.
* Step 5
Pour the hot oil over u choy sum. Enjoy!
