Phodniche tandul (spiced rice)

In the holy month of Shravan we all do fasting. Ekkana is a one tradition for the people who can't do fasting. In this you have to choose one grain like rice or wheat or sorghum.whole month eat only one grain. Recipe is simple yet yummy.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In this Ekkana tradition if you have chosen rice. You have use roasted raw rice. So first dry roast rice till it becomes light in weight.
* Step 2
Allow it to cool down. In a mixer jar add coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds, ginger.blend to smooth mixture.
* Step 3
Now heat the deep pan. Add Desi ghee to it. Once hot add coconut mixture and saute till aromatic.now add roasted raw rice.
* Step 4
Mix well, add water as required.add sugar and salt.cook for 15 minutes on medium to high flame. Add lemon juice and serve hot.
* Step 5
In Ekkana tradition you have take rice for only once.you can't eat again. We follow this tradition for this month.
