Masala Idli

Savoury,healthy and lip smacking masala Idlis are a yummy and an irresistible combination for breakfast or with your evening Chai!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Chop Idlis into cubes

* Step 2

Heat oil in a non stick pan and add the chopped Idlis

* Step 3

Sauté until they become crisp and slightly brown

* Step 4

Now take the Idlis off heat and keep aside

* Step 5

In the same pan, add mustard seeds,green chillies,asafoetida and curry leaves and let the seeds splutter

* Step 6

Reduce heat and add onions,capsicum, tomatoes,black pepper

* Step 7

Mix and sauté till onions are translucent and tomatoes soften

* Step 8

Next add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, cumin and red chilli powders and combine well

* Step 9

Cook covered on Low heat for 5-7 minutes

* Step 10

Add fried Idlis, lemon juice,salt to taste and mix well

* Step 11

Take off heat and add fresh coriander leaves

* Step 12

Serve hot with a hot cup of tea/any beverage of your choice

* Step 13

Tip:use fresh pepper powder for a great taste
