5 min Crispy Fried Khoira Fish

#min Khoira fish , also called the Indian Oil Sardine is a popular fish in India specially in West Bengal and Bangladesh.It can be cooked in various ways and served crispy fried or in gravy. Khoira fish have several tiny bones which gets crispy and crunchy upon frying. Hence this fish is fried and often served as a side with steamed rice and dal in lunch or dinner and preferred by those who avoid eating it in gravy.

300 gms

Khoira Fish

1/4 th tsp

turmeric powder

1/4 th tsp

red chilli powder

1/4 th tsp

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Smear fish with turmeric, 1 tsp mustard oil and salt.

Heat mustard oil in a wok or frying pan till it is smoking hot. Reduce heat and add few fish at a time and fry on medium to high flame till golden brown and crispy. Garnish with a sprinkling of red chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with boiled rice and dal and relish the flavours of simple crispy fried Khoira Fish in lunch or dinner.
