Shorshe Pomfret (Pomfret in mustard paste)

#curry A delicious Bengali recipe of fish cooked in mustard paste and best enjoyed with a plate of steaming hot rice. Other fish like rohu,katla, parshe, hilsa can also be cooked with mustard paste.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Marinate pomfret with little salt and turmeric for 10 minutes.Meanwhile make a paste of mustard seeds along with little salt,1 green chilli, curd and little water.

* Step 2

Heat oil and fry the fish.Sprinkle kalonji and when it splutters fry the chopped onion.Then add the fish.Pour water,salt,turmeric,red chilli powder and tomato puree.Let it boil for sometime.

* Step 3

Add the mustard paste,slit green chillies and pour 1 tbsp mustard oil.Give it a boil and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Serve hot with rice.
