Misti Doi (homemade sweet caramelised curd)

#dussehra This is a traditional Bengali sweet dessert famous all over India and served mostly after lunch.It's taste is enhanced when set in an earthen pot but can also be set in clay,porcelain or micro safe containers.

Ingredient

500 ml

whole milk

6 tsp

sugar

1 tbsp

curd

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add 6 tsp sugar in a non stick wok or heavy bottomed pan.Heat it and when the sugar melts and gets a light brown tinge pour the milk and let it boil till sugar melts completely.

* Step 2

Add 1 tsp powder milk to get a thick consistency of curd.Let the milk cool down a bit stirring constantly with a beater to get a frothy texture.

* Step 3

Add little sweet or sour curd in the milk and beat again.Then cover and allow it to set for few hours.Refrigerate after it has set completely and serve chilled curd after meals.
