Broiled Eggplant Japonaise

eggplant

2 tbsp

canola oil

1 1/2 tbsp

soy sauce

1 tsp

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil

* Step 2

Cut stems off eggplant

* Step 3

Cut eggplant into 1/2" thick strips

* Step 4

Drizzle oil on cookie sheet

* Step 5

Add eggplant strips to cookie sheet

* Step 6

Drizzle oil on eggplant

* Step 7

Add salt to eggplant as desired

* Step 8

Broil eggplant for 4-5 minutes

* Step 9

Flip over eggplant and broil for 4-5 minutes or until tender

* Step 10

Mix garlic, soy sauce, sugar, Tabasco sauce into a bowl

* Step 11

Toss eggplant into bowl and marinade

* Step 12

Serve immediately
