Whosayna’s Maandazi

Maandazi is a sweet snack speciality of Yeast Africans, it is somehow similar to Donuts but not very meaty...

Ingredient

2 cups/250 grams

Maida (All Purpose Flour)

Pinch

Salt

4 tbsp

Sugar

2 tsp

Yeast

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Mix dry ingredients add ghee then bind the above with coconut milk to soft dough, should be smooth and soft... let it rise till it's double the size... make 2 balls and knead it then roll each ball to 1/2 cm thickness roti and cut into desired shapes keep on flour dusted paper on a thhal.(dish) must to keep on flour dusted or oiled plastics because will stick. let it rise for 10-15 mins then deep fry in oil on medium flame till brownish colour.
