Prego Sandwich

Prego Sandwich

Typically served throughout Portugal, this is a very popular snack to have with your beer at a bar/cafe. Traditionally it is served in a rustic portuguese roll, however on this occasion I didn't have any to hand so I sliced some tiger bread instead but I would recommend using a rustic type of roll instead. There are many variations of this sandwich but this is my preferred way of doing it.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Marinate the steaks with all the ingredients listed. Allow to marinade for a minimum of one hour, overnight in the fridge is preferable.

* Step 2

Heat a grill pan.

* Step 3

Drain the steaks from the marinade and add to the grill pan. Grill on each side until cooked to your preference. Allow to rest for a few minutes.

* Step 4

To Serve, spread the bread with the chilli butter and mustard. Next add the steak and top with the onions and tomatoes.
