Motton aloo jhol (Odia style Motton curry)

#technique1 The speciality of Odia style Mutton curry is that Mutton is cooked with potatoes is not much gravy. We people called it as Mutton aloo jhol. By using pressure cooker it takes less time to prepare.

Ingredient

Food ration :

4-5 servings

Cooking time :

25 minutes
500 gm

mutton

5-6 tsp

mustard oil

1/2 tsp

sugar

3 cup

water

8-10 cloves

garlic

1 inch

ginger

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

1/2 inch

cinnamon

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat a pressure cooker with oil.

* Step 2

Add sugar to get caramelise.

* Step 3

Then add chopped onion and red chilli in it.

* Step 4

When they become translucent then add the masala paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, meat masala and chopped tomatoes in it.

* Step 5

When the masala release oil then add the Mutton pieces in it and cover it for sometime.

* Step 6

Add water and cover the lid of the cooker and wait for 4-5 whistles in low flame.

* Step 7

Then switch off the flame and after the gas releases then open the lid of the cooker.

* Step 8

Now your mutton curry is ready.

* Step 9

Serve hot with traditional Odia chakuli pitha.
