Angoor khajur khatta

#winterfruits This is a most popular side dish in east India during winter season. This is so yummy and a mixture of sweet and sour taste. Procedure is almost similar to that of tomato khatta which is a popular dish of Odisha.

Ingredient

ginger

3-4 cloves

garlic (optional)

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First of all roast cumin seeds and red chilli and make a powder.

* Step 2

Then make ginger,garlic and green chilli paste.

* Step 3

Heat a pan and put oil in it and then add the hing and panch phoron (5 spices)

* Step 4

When the mustard in the panch phoron crackle then add the curry leaves and ginger, garlic chilli paste and saute it and then add grapes in it.

* Step 5

Add turmeric, chilli powder and salt and mix it well and cover the lid for 2 minutes.

* Step 6

Then add the jaggery powder and water along with the dates and cook again for 2 minutes.

* Step 7

Then add the roasted cumin and chilli powder and cook it by covering the lid for 1 minute.

* Step 8

Your angoor khajur khatta is now ready.

* Step 9

Serve it when cool to room temperature.

* Step 10

Goes well with rice, roti or parathas.
