Crockpot Five-Spice Pecans

If you make plenty of these and freeze them they make great gifts for holidays and other occasions, the slow cooker will gently toast these which are inspired by Asian cooking

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Place pecans in a 4 quart crockpot

* Step 2

In a bowl combine the melted margarine or butter, soy sauce, five spice powder, garlic powder, ginger, and red pepper.

* Step 3

Pour over nuts, stir to coat the nuts

* Step 4

Cover and cook on low heat setting to 2 hours. Uncover and stir

* Step 5

Turn to a high heat setting then cover and continue cooking on high heat setting for 15 to 30 minutes

* Step 6

Allow to cool before serving
