When you have time make some rice flour and keep it ....it has many uses in various recipes.
Here I have used Ambemohar rice.
Use the raw rice and not parboiled rice for rice flour.
If the recipe calls for a particular type use that.
Ingredient
Food ration :
2 & 2/3 cups
Cooking time :
10-15 mins plus
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and soak the rice for 3-4 hours. Drain the water out and let it be in the seive for at least half an hour for the water to drain out completely. Then Air dry it for an hour or two on a thin muslin / Cotton cloth. The rice should not completely dry but must have some moisture when you grind. Grind it fine in two batches in mixer grinder. Sift it to discard bigger grains and grind it again, if any, the finer the better.
* Step 2
Grind it in pulses, be careful not to overheat the mixer grinder. Once all is done, air dry it again and keep it in an airtight container. Use within 1-2 days or keep it refrigerated. Use it to make various recipes. We often make the traditional Nepali Roti with this flour apart from using in various other recipes.
