Kang Kao Stir Fried - Kalmi Saag/ Morning Glory/ Water Spinach

I love the Kalmi Saag cooked in the #Thai style.... in Thai language it's called Kang Kao. Whenever I go to the Thai restaurant, it should be in my order, sometime I cook in that style but skip the fermented Beans when it's not at home. The Thai fermented Beans doesn't have any bad smell. You can dry it or keep it watery a bit .....I simply love it with Steamed rice. #cookpadindia #kalmisaag #waterspinach #morningglory

3 servings

Cooking time :

15 mins
1 tbsp

Veg Oil

1.5 tbsp

Oyster Sauce

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Prepare ingredients as above, I like seperating the stalks. Heat oil in a frying Pan/ wok/ kadai. Add in the garlic and chillies and saute it. Add in the stalks along with a pinch of salt. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. It will soften up so that when you add the leaves it gets cooked together.

* Step 2

Add in the Greens, cover it with a lid so that it wilts faster. Add in the soya sauce and oyster sauce and mix well, add in fermented Beans if you are adding it. Check salt and add if required. Stir fry for about 5 minutes, you can make it dry or leave it watery. Serve hot with Steamed rice.
