Mixed nuts and seeds Chikki

#GA4 #week12 #peanuts Winter it was ritual for our grandpa to make Badam Chikki or बदम काे मिठाई / Badam ko Mithai made of Gur and peanuts. Now I make it but I generally try to mix all other nuts and seeds along with peanuts so that my son eats all types of nuts and seeds which he generally tries to refrain from having. I have used salted roasted peanuts hence I am not adding a pinch of salt which I generally do, as the salt in the peanuts will balance the sweetness of the Gur. All other nuts I have roasted it along with seeds. The cooking time is only the time to roast the nuts & seeds and cook the Chikki.

Ingredient

Food ration :

20-24 servings

Cooking time :

15 minutes
350 gms

Jaggery/ Gur

1/4 cup

Peanuts

1/4 cup

Almond

1/4 cup

Pistachio

1/4 cup

Pecan nuts

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a Kadai dry roast the nuts except for the roasted peanuts for 2-3 minutes and then add the seeds and roast for another minute or so and put off the flame.

* Step 2

Then add the peanut and mix and roast more for a minute in the hot kadai after putting off the flame. Put it on a plate.

Start heating the Gur in a kadai or pan with thick bottom and after it melt cook for a minute or two then add the all the nuts and seeds and mix well and cook for another minute or so.

* Step 4

Pour it in a ghee greased plate and spread it. Let it cool. After almost half an hour or so while it's still warm and not set fully, cut it into desired shape and sizes and let it cool completely and set for few hours more. Enjoy !!!
