Soft Roti/ Flat Bread or no yeast no oven Pita Bread
I love rotis made of whey water or buttermilk kneaded with flour.
So here's a Pita bread with no yeast but made with baking soda and whey water
My Granny in Nepali language used to call it Bhuke roti means something which is swollen up as the roti used to swell up and become soft, she sometimes used to make it with sourdough also because earlier yeast was not readily available as it is now.....but as later on we grew and started going places and internet started ....came to know almost the same kind of bread is called Pita bread somewhere else.

* Step 1

Then add in the whey water little by little and knead it into a soft dough...cover and let it rest for an hour.
* Step 3
After one hour, pre heat the tawa, knead the dough for a minute or two and then divide the dough into three parts. Roll it out into a size of 6-7 inches diameter round roti.
* Step 4
Put it on the hot tawa and cover with a lid....and let it cook for 30 secs or so and then open the lid and flip on the other side and cook for another 30 secs or so. Once done, with the help of a kitchen cloth press the roti and turn it round and cook on both sides in this way. Your Roti is ready. Serve hot !!!
