Fried mackerel with spicy shrimp paste

Fried mackerel with spicy shrimp paste or “Nam Prik Kapi”(Nam prik means Thai spicy paste, Kapi means shrimp paste) is a famous traditional Thai recipe, especially in central Thailand.

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a nonstick saucepan pan, heat vegetable oil with low heat. Cook both sides of the mackerel until it turn brown. Set aside. Use paper towel to remove the oiliness.

* Step 2

To make Spicy shrimp paste: Bring mortar and pestle. Add shrimp paste and garlic cloves. Crush and grind until they mix well. Add Thai chilli and Turkey berry, one at a time, coarsely crush. Add palm sugar and mix well. Finally add water and fresh lime juice. Mix well. Set aside.

* Step 3

Serve fried Mackerel and spicy shrimp paste with steamed rice, poached egg, and fresh vegetables.
