This cheesy pasty is a delicious alternative to the regular Cornish pasty and is quick and easy to make.

Ingredient

200 g /7oz

Mashed potato

100 g / 3Β½oz

Strong cheese

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Grease a large baking tray and line it with parchment paper. Mix together the potato, cheese, onion and seasoning, until everything is completely combined, once mixed divide it into 4 equal pieces.

Beat the egg until loose and runny (add a dash of milk in necessary) Preheat your oven to 160Β°C / 320Β°F / Gas mark 4.

Seal the edge of each pasty with tangs of a fork, dip the fork in the egg wash to stop it sticking. Brush each pasty liberally with the egg wash, cut 2 or 3 small vent holes in each pasty.

Place them in the preheated oven and set your timer for 30 minutes. Remove the golden-brown pasties from the oven, place them on a wire rack, allow them to cool and settle for 10 minutes before serving.
