Pastel with Carrot and Boiled Egg Filling

Look it into the filling, mmm so yummy and healthy.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Firstly we need to make the filling. Sauteed chopped garlic into the pan with the oil.

After nice smell comes out from sauteed onions, add grounded chicken into it. Mix it well until changed into pale colour

Continue by adding diced carrot, and celery. Mix together.

Add salt and sugar to seasoning

Add Water and bring it to a sauteed but not to soft result of carrot. After everything almost done put flour together into the filling, so we will get nice thickened filling. Lastly add sesame oil.

Set aside. Let it cool until ready to wrapped into the doug.

For dough, mix all dry ingredients. Add butter into it, and chopped until blend together, or using dough mixer.

Add egg, and water into the dough. Blend it well. Give a rest for more or less 30 min.

After 30 min, divide dough into 4 pieces.

Flaten dough using rolling pin, into long shape, then fold each edges bring it to the middle. Turn around and do the same way one more time. Flatten it. We can use pasta maker to make it the same flat.

Next step, cut the dough using circle mold. Cut with the knife.

Put a piece cutting of boiled egg, and filling in the middle of the dough. Then fold if up. Pinch it, make braided in the edges.

Or if not possible use finger to braided the edges, you can use the mold.

After finished folding all the dough time to fried. Don't put so many pastel into the fryer. Use medium heat. Fry until golden brown.

Look so good and nice fried pastel.. hmmm served it with sweet chilli sauce or Sriracha sauce.

Note : pastel also freezer friendly. Just put in the microwave about 1 mnt when its freeze. Then ready to fry.
