Sama Rice and Sago Dosa

Navratri means a season of prayers, maintaining fast, preparing and eating satvik food. The most used ingredients are sago, sama rice, peanuts, yoghurt, Kuttu ka atta, Singhara atta and Rajgira atta. These recipes are wholesome and full of nutrition too . This dosa prepared with sago and sama rice is rich in Proteins and energy. Ingredient

1 cup

Sago

1 cup

Sama rice

1/2 cup

Curd

1/4 tsp

Baking soda

1/2 tsp

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, wash the sago 2 to 3 times under running water in a strainer. Also rinse the sama rice and drain away excess water.

* Step 2

Combine both in a vessel and pour buttermilk on top. Cover and keep for 4 to 5 hours. The buttermilk will be soaked by the sago. Then transfer to a mixer jar. Add peanut powder, yoghurt, ginger chilli paste, salt, chilli powder, cumin powder and salt. Grind to a smooth paste.

Transfer to another bowl. Then add chopped coriander leaves. Lastly mix in the baking soda and 1/2 tsp of sugar. Mix well. If the mixture is too thin, add some peanut powder.

Then heat a tawa. Pour a laddlefull of batter and swirl round to make dosa. Then pour 1 tsp ghee around. Then cook it till base is crisp.

Then flip and cook on the other side. Pour 1 tsp ghee. When both sides are golden, remove the dosa to a the serving plate.

Make all the dosas similarly. Serve with coriander and coconut chutney, sweet lime pickle and yoghurt. Enjoy.
