Luscious pasta sheet layers stuffed with cream sauce, red sauce, Italian seasoned vegetables and cheese ( cooked meat for meat lovers too) . It's a complete wholesome meal in itself. I Have made it with a twist by using wholegrain bread instead of the regular lasagna sheets. The result was so good and everyone loved it. Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, let's make the grilled vegetables. Heat oil in the pan. Add onions and saute till pink.

Then add all the vegetables and grill them till nice and aromatic and light brown.

* Step 3

Mix seasonings as per taste. Keep ready.

* Step 4

Make creamy yellow sauce by heating butter and slow roasting the flour. Then slowly add milk, a pinch of turmeric and whisk till lump free.

* Step 5

Then heat till it reaches a boil. Then add seasonings and switch off flame. Cool it by whisking well. Add 1 tablespoon fresh cream for extra taste.

* Step 6

To make red sauce: Heat olive oil. Saute garlic and onion till aromatic.

Then fry tomatoes and add seasonings. Cook for a minute.

* Step 8

Then add tomato puree, salt, sugar pepper and cook covered till oil separates on top. Add 1/4 cup cheese, switch off flame and keep ready.

Preheat oven on grill mode on 200 °c for 10 minutes. Then line a borosilicate baking tray with butter. Spread some red sauce at base.

Then layer with 4 bread slices arranged on top. Spread white sauce on bread slices.

Then layer with grilled veggies. Then add red sauce on top.

Now arrange 2 and layer of bread slices and repeat for another layer or till all the topping are added completely.

Top with lots of grated cheese. Grill in preheated oven till cheese melts on top.

Serve immediately as a complete meal and enjoy your Italiano meal!
