Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Clean,wash and soaked the dal into water for 2hours. Chopped the tomato,onion,green Chilli and ginger. In a pressure cooker place the soaked dal add 2 cups of water and let it boil openly.

* Step 2

As foam forms on top of the pan, just scoop all it out with a spoon, when the water cleared add chopped onion,tomato,ginger and green Chilli

* Step 3

Add bay leaf,cloves and cardamom, add all powder spices along with salt, add 1 tsp ghee.give a nice mix.cover the lid and pressure cook on medium flame for 3 whistle. Turn off the flame. Release the pressure naturally.then open it the dal cooked perfectly.

* Step 4

Discard the bay leaf and cardamom. Add 1 cup hot water to adjust the consistency and let it boil for 3-4 minutes. While the dal getting boil we arrange all the ingredients for tempering

Heat ghee in tadka pan, add cumin seeds,garlic and asafoetida when the garlic turn light brown add broken dry red chilli,ginger's julienne,curry leaves and kasuri methi.fry them for 20 seconds. Add kashmiri red Chilli powder and turn off the flame.

* Step 6

When dal boiled transfer the dal into a serving bowl. Pour the tempering on dal. Cover the bowl immediately for a minute. Then served and Enjoy this delicious dal with rice or roti.
