Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Soak kodo millet in water overnight. Wash it, strain it. Soak dal for 1/2 hr, wash it, strain it, keep aside.
* Step 2
Take a pressure cooker, add millet & dal, in goes salt, haldi powder & oil.
* Step 3
Add 1.5 cup water, place the lid, give 5 whistles on high flame. Lower the flame, cook it for 5 minutes.
* Step 4
Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally. Open the lid after 5 minutes.
* Step 5
Now add 1.5 cup boiling water, mix it well. Boil it on high flame for 3 minutes. Lower the flame, keep cooking until semi thick, stir in between.
* Step 6
Take a pan, add ghee, heat it. Add tejpatta, hing & zeera, let it splutter.
* Step 7
In goes green chilli & onion, stir fry it until light brown.
* Step 8
Add in ginger garlic, saute it until rawness is released.
* Step 9
Now add tomato & salt, mix it well. Cook it for a minute.
* Step 10
Add in gobhi, matar & gajar, stir fry it for a minute.
* Step 11
In goes dhania patta, stir fry it for a minute.
* Step 12
Transfer khichdi to the tadka, mix it well. Add garam masala powder, mix it well.
* Step 13
Cover it with the lid, cook it on low flame for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame, open the lid after 5 minutes.
* Step 14
Take out in a serving bowl, keep aside. Take another tadka pan, add ghee, heat it. In goes dry red chilli, saute it until brown. Pour it onto the khichdi, do not mix it..
