Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and soak chana dal for 4 - 5 hours.

* Step 2

Add 1 - 2 tbsp water and grind coarsely.

Take a bowl add chana dal paste,onion,coconut,green chilli,garam masala powder,salt and coriander leaves and mix well.

* Step 4

Take one tsp oil in a pan.

* Step 5

Add black mustard seeds,cumin seeds and asafoetida to crackle.

* Step 6

Add curry leaves and switch off the gas and mix in the chana dal paste.

* Step 7

Shape each ball to vada.

* Step 8

Dip fry in hot oil and drain in paper napkin.

* Step 9

Serve hot with tea.
