Kunafa (using vermicelli)

Kunafa is an Arabic dish prepared for the month of Ramadan. This dessert represents everything that is there in an attractive woman. The crisp texture from the outside is like women who play hard to get, then comes the soft texture of cream beneath tht layer, which represents the softnessof a women's heart & nature. Later comes syrup, poured on the top & they say tht it is the sweet words women say whn in love. U must be wondering about the pistachios, tht is the makeup women wear to enhance their beauty. This post is dedicated to the beautiful women, who managed to survive me & luv me the way i am, nt only my mom bt are also my friends,and i luv them so much. Thank u fr being in my life!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a bowl add crushed vermicelli add butter to it and mix well, keep aside

* Step 2

In a medium saucepan, combine together the sugar, water and lime juice,heat on medium heat and prp like gulab jamun syrup, atlast add rose water boil it fr 1min and switch off flame.

* Step 3

Fr cream filling : in a saucepan on medium heat, add milk & sugar mix well and bring it to boil

* Step 4

Whisk 1/2cup of water to cornflour and gently pour in milk & stir continously whn it becomes thick add essense off the flame

* Step 5

Thn to this mixture add condensed milk and cream cheese and fresh cream

* Step 6

Take a round cake tin, grease it with ghee or butter

* Step 7

Now spread half of vermicelli first layer, press it down with hand

* Step 8

Spread cream filling on vermicelli

* Step 9

Spread vermicelli second layer, press it down

* Step 10

Bake it for 20mins at 180 degree

* Step 11

After baking spread syrup or invert it in a dish & remove frm pan, pour sugar syrup on top

* Step 12

Serve hot garnish with pistachios

Then flip onto a gorgeous platter and swoon

Traditional kunafa is prepared with kunafa dough (phyllo dough) which is shredded and baked. * refer pic below

In this recipe i used roasted vermicelli as kunafa dough was nt available at my place.
