Gujju-style moong dal

Ingredient

1/4 cup

moong

3/4 tsp

sugar

1 tsp

oil/ghee

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Pressure cook moong until soft. (Helps to soak the moong for 2 hours).

* Step 2

Add water to the pressure cooked moong to adjust consistency.

* Step 3

Add all the dry spices and let the moong dal boil.

* Step 4

Prepare the tempering: Heat oil/ghee and add cumin seeds. Once the crackle and the curry leaves.

* Step 5

Add the tempering to the moong dal.

* Step 6

Let it boil for 3-5 min so the flavours are well cooked. Adjust consistency with water.

* Step 7

Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or paratha!
