American Style Pancakes

American Style Pancakes

I wasn't going to bother with Pancake Day this year... But realise I'm batter than that. (sorry!) I halved my normal recipe tonight as I was having pancakes for one...

Ingredient

Food ration :

1-2 people
Pinch

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Melt the butter in a frying pan then leave to cool a little

Sieve all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl

* Step 3

Make a well in the mixture and crack in the egg. Beat in the egg with a fork and a little milk to form a thick paste. Try to work out all the lumps.

All the rest of the milk and mix well using a fork or a whisk.

Add in the melted butter and mix thoroughly. I transferred to a jug at this point to make it easier to pour into the pan.

Using the same pan as before. Warm up the pan over a medium to high heat. Add a little butter. Once melted, smooth the butter around the pan using kitchen roll. This gives an even coating.

* Step 7

Once the pan is really got, pour in a small amount of the batter. (I got 8 pancakes out of this recipe.) when bubbles start to appear on the topside of the pancake it is time to flip.

Once both sides are golden brown, transfer to a warmed plate.

* Step 9

I served with banana, strawberries and loads of maple syrup. But these work with amything!
