Grandma's Breakfast Rolls

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Combine the hot milk, softened butter, granulated sugar and salt in a large bowl and mix well. Let stand to cool

* Step 2

Stir in the eggs. Mix together the yeast and flour. Stir into the milk mixture until a soft dough forms

* Step 3

Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface. Put in a greased bowl, turning to coat the surface. Leave to rise in a warm place, covered, for about 3 hours, or until doubled in size

* Step 4

Divide the dough into 3 equal-sized portions. Roll each portion into a 30cm/ 12in circle on a floured surface. Brush with melted butter

* Step 5

Preheat the oven to 180 oC / 350 oF/Gas 4. Grease baking sheets

* Step 6

Cut each circle of dough into 12 equal-sized segments. Carefully, roll up each segment from the wide end towards the point

* Step 7

Arrange the rolls, point-sides down, on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack
