South indian fish 🐠 curry

A tasty, spicy dish from south Indian, cooked with tamarind which has a sour taste, add flavour to curries and few ingredients makes this dish delicious. Course: main, Diet: non vegetarian, cuisine: indian ( south India), nutrients value: vitamin A, B, C, iron and calcium.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash fish pieces 🐠 and pat dry them on kitchen towel, keep aside.

* Step 2

Heat ghee, add mustard seeds when start to crackle, add garlic πŸ§„ saute till golden, add finely chopped onions πŸ§…, cook on low flame till onions πŸ§… are golden brown, add curry leaves 🌱 and fry for a min.

* Step 3

Add kashmiri red chillies powder 🌢️, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and mix well, cook for 1 min, add a few drops of water πŸ’¦ to prevent the spices from burning, add blanched tomato puree πŸ…, salt and bring to a boil, lower the heat and cover until the oil float on top, about 15 mins.

* Step 4

Add tamarind pulp, hot water πŸ’¦ and mix well, cook for 5 mins, add fish pieces 🐠, do not use spoon, it will break easy, bast the fish pieces 🐠 with gravy, cook for 8 mins or until fish pieces are tender and soft. The time will be depend on the thickness of the fish.

* Step 5

Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves 🌿, serve hot.
