Papaya Burfi

Let’s prepare traditional burfi with a fruity punch of papaya. The recipe was recommended by Mr. Vikram Singh , Agriculture Officer, BPMU-Bilaspur. Every piece of this burfi is good in vitamin C and calcium. Enjoy the natural sweetness and color of papaya burfi as a homemade sweet during festivals.

Ingredient

Food ration :

for 350g, 20 pieces

Cooking time :

35 min. for cooking + 1.5 hours for setting
1 tbsp

Ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan add papaya in it.

* Step 2

Sauté on high heat for 5 minutes stirring continuously.

* Step 3

Add cardamom powder, almond powder, mix well and let it cook on medium flame.

* Step 4

Stir occasionally to avoid burning, Add khoya in it.

* Step 5

Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes till khoya is well combined.

* Step 6

Add sugar, mix and saute on high heat stirring continuously till mixture become very thick.

* Step 7

Take it off the stove, immediately pour it on a greased tray or plate.

* Step 8

Refrigerate till it sets (approximately 1.5 hours). Cut in shape of your choice.

* Step 9

Papaya burfi is ready to serve.
