Vegan milopitakia

Milopitakia (Greek apple-filled cookies), a tasty sweet, that can be consumed during Lent, when people fast from dairy and meat products.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Place all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl and mix using a spoon.

* Step 2

Add as much flour as is needed to be able to knead until you have a nice pliable dough, about 1/2 k. It doesn't take too much mixing, it's very easy to make.

* Step 3

Divide the dough into 22 little balls, each one the size of a small tangerine.

* Step 4

Meanwhile, prepare the filling combining all the ingredients into a mixture.

* Step 5

Roll out the dough, to a filo sheet of about 1/2 cm thick and place one heaping tbsp of filling on it.

* Step 6

Fold the dough over sealing it well and making an oval shape.

* Step 7

Bake on parchment paper brushed with butter at 180°C for about half an hour or until they are golden brown.

* Step 8

Dust with icing sugar when they cool.
