Chickpea stew from Sifnos, in a casserole pot
Traditional, simple to make and very tasty recipe. You can serve it with a Greek salad and plenty of feta cheese.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Soak the chickpeas in cold water with 1 tsp of salt for 8-12 hours.
* Step 2
Put the chickpeas, the water, the olive oil, the onions, coarsely chopped, the garlic and the bay leaves, salt, pepper in a casserole pot and stir.
* Step 3
Bake at 200°C for 4-5 hours.
* Step 4
Serve in a deep plate with lemon, salt and pepper.
